Really hearty Bavarian restaurant in the middle of Regensburg. The Hofbräuhaus is based on the one in Munich, but with its own special touch, such as the beer glasses. The service was on the ball and the food came very quickly. In terms of taste, not outstanding but good. The beer garden in the back yard is nice because it escapes the hustle and bustle of the street. Can I recommend it ?.

Everything was fine. The food was delicious, the service was very friendly and nice.

A bottomless tavern. Absolutely unfriendly to children and completely inflexible. It was not possible to get a second drink glass for a little boy, because he should drink with our big drinks, because he cannot make a whole drink of his own. Absolutely not recommendable!

This is our second time here in two weeks and both times we have had terrible service. Last time we got up and left and went to Ratskeller because the server was so rude and incompetent. This time, we tried it again hoping for a better experience and had the same terrible server (she’s the Asian one). Wrong beers, slow and rude service, and a waste of time! Not worth your time!! She was rude to our german guests at our last visit too.

Even at a late hour we were served in a friendly Bavarian way. We recommend. We liked the ambience very much.

Authentic Bavarian dishes. If you like dumplings, try semmelknoedel, comany to meat and vegetarian dishes. - Solid wooden panelling, heavy osk furniture. Waitresses in traditional dirndl dresses welcome guests. Great beers!

Tatar and pikeperch were good. The raspberry spirit too. It was less nice that we tried to make reservations for lunch, but our reservation was rejected. In the evening we were parked next to the toilet due to a lack of reservations.

It has never happened to me here before that a dish was put on the table cold. The choice of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. The professionalism of the staff is really impressive. The decoration on the tables and in the whole restaurant is reasonable and beautiful. The toilet is always clean and all in all the place makes a great impression. I haven't been that impressed by an inn in a long time.

First time review of anything in Google . Great place for a beer, but as for food, I would look elsewhere. Service was patchy and cold, took ages and even had to flag down a waiter to take our order despite the place being relatively empty. When the food arrived (2x Schweinshaxe), the dumpling and Schweinshaxe felt reheated and lacked the texture a freshly made one would've had. I felt the only effort that was put in, was the salad. Go for the beer, don't stay for the food.

Delicious Bavarian food for years. Even in times of Corona, I find the take-away dishes simply delicious. A traditional schnitzel with delicious potato salad is a must once a week! Thank you very much, do it very well :) Highly recommended. Stay healthy!

My sister and I thought the food here was reasonably priced and would come back. Can't recommend the staff highly enough - always approachable and very helpful. Food came fast, was piping hot and completely delightful. Eveything tasted great, no problems from us. Wonderful spot to go for supper, would highly recommend.

We sat waiting for a waitress. Eventually,I got up and got myself a menu. Then waited again . My husband was ready for leaving. It was not busy when we arrived. There were 5 tables free on the right side. So we picked one. Waitress came said just a minute, got order from a table who was in before us ,then one that came in after us. Waitress took our order .Served me white wine ,asked for red. Said not got it ,but this was same in white. Not would you like to pick another. No apologies .Our Tiroler Grostl came with no eggs on. When we got the bill and gave her our credit card . She Said "no card. Give me cash.," With no please. A big business like this with no card machine . Rubbish Not going there again .

Service was fast and friendly. Schweinebraten and Schweinshaxe were excellent. They were very accommodating of our 7 month old baby.

A very bad experience. The more people come in, the more customers are served! This sums up the style. If we had remembered to book elsewhere we would not have ended up here. Saturday night the center was full and to avoid problems, as we usually do, we try to have dinner soon to take advantage of the next time. Already inviting us to take a place where we prefer even if there is an indication "Reserved" is not a good sign. Wait 45 minutes after they brought the beers to receive the dishes ordered, although the room is not full even to the middle, it's a very bad sign. Finding that the account were also included 2 beers Clear more while we drank only ax is annoying, sopprattutto whether to report it to the maid's us. The even more unpleasant surprise was, after we made the climb CLEAR unsolicited, discover, once gone, who had counted three instead of the two that we had been drinking. Poor service, prices ... attention to the bill! The following evening on an island in the middle of the river I ate better VERY, VERY MUCH more for less, with account CORRECT and MANY more courtesy, never again, will it here in Monaco, and if the meeting even elsewhere!

Fantastic old town

A Bavarian-style brewery in the center of Regensburg. The service is fast and punctual. Taste the local beer that never betrays it as it is HB. The restaurant is simply furnished and stands out for its large iron chandeliers. All in all a welcoming atmosphere.

We sat outside and the older waitress was rude when we asked if they had an English menu and proceeded to have the same attitude through out the rest of our visit. We ordered our drinks and when she returned, she asked if we wanted food. I told her what I wanted and we never received it. I’m not sure if she didn’t hear me or if something else was the issue. My husband asked for our check and we left after waiting 30 minutes or so. Our previous visit was very pleasant so I’m not sure what was going on this time. My husband did however, enjoy his Dunkel beer.

Good food and beer with good atmosphere

A dark in the HB is always. We were there with a medium sized group to eat. As always the food was very good. Priced in terms of what you expect in Regensburg for home-style cooking. Service fast and friendly. The boss also takes it to personally come by and greet everyone, and later to ask if everything is OK. Previously a matter of course, today the very positive exception. Unfortunately, there are now too few inns of this kind. Let's hope that the HB in Regensburg will remain in this way for a long time.

One of the traditional Bavarian places in Regensburg. For a change with the quaffable HB München instead of one of the local beers. Mrs. and Mrs. Schafbauer often walk from table to table personally greeting their guests and making sure everything goes well a nice custom.

Nice ambience. A lot quieter than its Munich counterpart! Brotzeit has the hottest grated horseradish so take a fire extinguisher!

I really would like to enjoy this place, but we've found a lack of respect when the English menu didn't include a lot of the better dishes. We picked one of the simple sausage from the menu because we thought that it was all that they had. But it was a surprise when big and beautiful dishes started to come to other tables. Those dishes were not available in the English menu. I know we're in Germany, but at least they could let us know that we have just part of the menu available in English so we could do an additional effort to translate that by ourselves. Terrible experience because of this.

Nice food- had the schnizel, was excellent. My wife had the chicken soup and wurst. All great. Wait staff was fantastic. Helped us non-German speakers with ordering. Beer was really good. Enjoyed the weissbier and a season. Definitely recommend this spot.
